They pull away from the wall - especially if your husband yanks on the towels to get them down. Drives ME CRAZY!!! So, now we have 2 massive holes in the wall that have to be patched and painted, and nowhere for John to hang his towels. We are painting that room soon, so I didn't want to have to do any extra work. PINTEREST TO THE RESCUE!!!
I had some old wood left over from making some other project (can't remember what). So, I glued three pieces together.
I let them dry for almost a week so that they wouldn't fall apart. Then I stained them with my very most favourite stain
While that dried, I debated painting this swing set monstrosity that I got FOR FREE (yeah baby) off of kijiji.
I am going to paint it white and then let Abbs paint some colours herself. Did you notice that I said I am going to paint it. Yep, I didn't get around to it. Too hot.
The stain turned out great on the wood, but I wasn't sure what to use for the hooks. Well, guess what I found in the garage?
I gorillia glued these suckers to the stained wood.
I let it dry overnight and was really pleased with the result, until I hung it up and the hook fell off! Back to the drawing board - or should I say the dollar store. I bought some typical silver crochet hooks and screwed them on.
I just love the dark stain against the striped walls.

I made 2 towel hooks for the total cost of $2.57. Couldn't ask for a better weekend, could ya?
Now, just because I can't believe what a suck my dog is, here is Diego with his favorite toy - his pacifier
