Flower Mirror

So, today was supposed to be mommy/Abby Sue day, but the weather turned cold, Abby Sue has a sinus infection and I have a headache. Kind of spoiled our fun mood.

What do cranky DIY individuals do when they are at home? THEY MAKE SOMETHING. I have been wanting to try this

I still want to make one of these, but then I saw this

over at

Nesting Place

and knew I had to make one for my daughter's room. Of course, she wanted hers in pink. So, I bought the poster board at dollarama, 2 for $1.25. Not too shabby. But I COULD NOT find a mirror to use. I looked everywhere - Walmart, Zellers, dollar stores, hobby stores. I was about to cry in frustration. Then I went to Canadian Tire and ended up buying a reflector mirror that candles usually sit on. It was exactly what I needed and only cost $6.

I have Gorillia Glue here, but it is for wood, so I didn't think I should use it (trust me, I am normally not this dumb). I bought some sort of Craft Goop instead. SUCKS!!! The paper refused to stick and I was getting even more cranky. So I pulled out my wonderful, never to be put aside again, Gorillia Glue, and, of course, it did the trick.

In total, the mirror probably took about an hour to do. Next time, and there will probably be 3 or 4 more of these in my house, I will make the petals thinner, so that I can use more. No matter what, I am pretty happy with how it turned out. It looks lopsided on her wall, so I will have to fix that. But, all in all, one heck of a great project.
