I love decorating and changing my house up. I get sad when I have to say goodbye to previous projects. But, sometimes there just isn't room in the house for the "old".
I loved my leopard print ottoman.
But, after refinishing my sunshine table, there wasn't a spot in the house for my ottoman. I put it on kijiji and actually had a buyer for it. However, I wasn't aware that I had my spam detector on high, so whenever the person emailed me, it automatically got deleted as spam. I never heard from her again.
Then, while making Abby Sue's light fixture covers, I did the unthinkable. I exacto-knifed right thru the material. Yikes.
Now I knew that I would have to refinish it in order to sell it.
I found this material at Fabricland a few months ago and bought it for my "maybe one day" drawer of material.
It was a little less wild than the leopard, but I thought it was so pretty. I figured I would use it to recover the table.
The last time I recovered it, I didn't bother to take the lovely pleather off because the material was dark. I knew this time I would have to strip it right down, as the black would show through. Yucky, dusty, fingernail breaking task.
It took me about 1/2 an hour to get the staples out and the pleather off. I totally deserved a crystal light break after that.
The new material was really difficult to cut and made a huge mess. I wasn't expecting that. However, I think it is really, really pretty now.
Now, I have to decide - do I sell it on kijiji? Or do I add a wonderful fringe at the bottom and keep it for my bedroom when I get it renovated?
Thoughts? Suggestions?
