As you all know, we have been attempting to sell our house for almost a year now. It is getting so frustrating and depressing. I know you are not supposed to take things personally, but it is hard to have a stiff upper lip when people are not just hating your house, but your decorating and DIY projects at well. We have a huge playroom downstairs for Abby Sue
We have had two people comment (one being an actual agent!!) that they didn't realize that it is a bedroom. Seriously? It has a huge closet, 3 bay windows and is 18 x 13!!!! So, since we are having an open house on Saturday, I have decided to clean up Missy Moo's toys and turn it into a bedroom. The walls are a deep red, which I know isn't everybody's cup of tea. BUT, since I don't have enough time to paint the room, I am going to attempt to minimize the red by adding a bunch of crisp, clean white accents. I bought a white duvet cover for the bed to make a big white splash against the red. I didn't want to spend the money on a dresser, so I kept her tea table down there and moved my wonderful table and mirror and lamp from the living room into this room. I also made a paint chip art picture that will look fabulous (more on that later).
Then, just as a I was struggling to figure out what else to put in there, I spotted a chair at the side of the road. It is gorgeous. Just wait until you see what I am going to do with it.
More coming tomorrow, as I labour furiously to have everything done by Saturday. As the Beastie Boys sing "No sleep 'til Brooklyn!!!"
