Moving On

It has been a pretty sad week at our house, but with the sun shining (which Abby Sue thinks is Ruby smiling at us) and the weather getting so warm, it is time to put sad thoughts away and move on.

is having a hard time. He is quite lonely and got into a little bit of trouble while I was out yesterday. He climbed onto the dining room table and ate a whole bag of hershey's kisses. Not sick afterwards or feeling bad. That dog has a cast iron stomach!!

He has been sleeping with Abby Sue a lot and they have been taking comfort in each other.

I had the day off yesterday, so I went for a drive, trying to find a stuffed kitty that looks just like Ruby. I ended up having to do a 40 minute drive and I went to 5 different stores, but I finally found something pretty close. Meet Ruby Kitty (yes, that is her name)

I gave her to Abby Sue when I picked her up at daycare and she went crazy. She took her to swimming lessons and out to dinner with my inlaws. I think that stuffie is going to become a world traveller. Last night before she went to sleep, Abby Sue prayed to Ruby (her new nightly ritual) and told her that she missed her but was happy that she wasn't sick anymore. She introduced Ruby Kitty and then, while my heart broke, told Ruby that she was going to try real hard not to cry anymore, but she might cry sometimes because she wanted Ruby to come back. Talk about hard to listen to. She went right to sleep afterwards, so I think she is getting used to the idea of no Ruby. Sigh, now if I could only deal with it.

I took an idea that I got from stalking other sites and made Abby Sue a clock for her room. I didn't take any pictures, probably because I was tearing a little while I was making it.

My hubby was quite impressed that it actually worked and Abby Sue loves it!!

Abby Sue is having friends over today, so I am going to get lots of projects done. I am working on my chair that I posted about, plus I got 2 of these (well, similar, but with shutter doors)
